Just ten kilometers from the campsite, Auray is a charming<\/strong> town set in a ria in the Gulf of Morbihan<\/strong>, sheltered from the winds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n Its beautiful river, its old quarters, the port of Saint Goustan…<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Auray has retained its charm of yesteryear, and the character of medieval Breton towns. The cobbled streets <\/strong>of the historic town center are lined with half-timbered<\/strong> and timber-framed houses<\/strong>. The Saint-Goustan marina<\/strong> comes alive with music in summer, and is a popular spot for strolling along the terraces of caf\u00e9s and cr\u00eaperies. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nestling in the hollow of the river of the same name, the medieval town<\/strong> of Auray is a picturesque destination that comes alive in summer<\/strong>. The gateway to the Quiberon peninsula, it is partly perched on the west bank of the river. Its immensely rich built heritage<\/strong> includes several manor houses from the 16th, 17th and 18\u1d49 centuries<\/strong>, as well as numerous religious buildings, including the church of Saint-Gildas and the chapel of the Holy Spirit. The town center owes its timeless charm to its many half-timbered houses<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\r\n <\/div>\r\n<\/section>

In the lower town lies the Saint-Goustan district<\/strong>. A must for Auray tourists, this former fishing and trading port retains all its charm and medieval character. Now a marina on the Auray River<\/a>, it’s also the town’s liveliest district<\/strong>, with its terraces<\/strong>, cobbled streets<\/strong> lined with art<\/strong> galleries<\/strong>, flea markets<\/strong> and craft markets<\/strong>. Campsite 20 minutes from Auray<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At the campsite near Auray, you’ll have the opportunity to stroll between the stalls of the big Monday market<\/strong>, which brings together almost 400 traders in high season<\/strong>. Lann Brick is 11 km from the medieval town and its picturesque port: less than 20 minutes by car! The town of Auray is also well worth<\/strong> a 40-minute bike ride<\/strong> along the small rural roads. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
